Description

Cohiba Nicaragua

From the artisans of Cohiba comes the brand’s first Nicaraguan cigar. Blended with the finest hand-selected leaves from the volcanic soils of EstelĂ and Jalapa, Cohiba Nicaragua is full in flavor and intricately balanced. This is a rich, creamy smoke peppered with bold notes of spice, ideal for any occasion that calls for a fine, handmade cigar.

The Cohiba Nicaragua is a bold and full-bodied cigar that showcases the rich, earthy complexity of Nicaraguan tobacco. Handcrafted with a dark, oily Nicaraguan Oscuro wrapper and a carefully aged blend of long-fillers from Estelí and Jalapa, this cigar delivers deep notes of pepper, leather, cocoa, and a hint of sweetness. As the first Cohiba to be made in Nicaragua, it represents a departure from the brand’s traditional Dominican roots, offering a powerful yet refined experience for seasoned smokers. Ideal for those who crave strength without sacrificing smoothness, the Cohiba Nicaragua is a striking addition to any humidor.

Cohiba Nicaragua – The Bold, Spicy Powerhouse
If you thought you knew what to expect from this brand, the Cohiba Nicaragua is here to change the conversation. This is the first time they’ve shifted production to Estelí, and the result is a total departure from their traditional Dominican profile. This is a 100% Nicaraguan puro that leans into the raw power and spice that the region is famous for.
The first thing you notice is the sun-grown Colorado Oscuro wrapper. It’s oily, slightly rugged, and has a deep reddish-brown hue that looks incredible against the sleek silver and black band. From the very first light, you get hit with a massive “Nicaraguan zing”—bold black pepper, rich earth, and a distinct charred oak note.
As you get into the second third, a dark chocolate sweetness starts to emerge, balancing out that initial spice. It’s a full-bodied smoke that demands your attention, but because it uses aged seco and ligero leaves from Jalapa and Estelí, it stays remarkably smooth for how strong it is.
Why It’s the Most Intense Cohiba Yet:
The EstelĂ Edge: Using 100% Nicaraguan tobacco gives this stick a “meatiness” and a spicy kick that sets it apart from the Red Dot or the Riviera.
Flawless Press: The construction is tight and heavy in the hand, leading to a slow, cool burn that allows the intense oils in the wrapper to really shine.
The “Nightcap” Choice: This is a serious cigar. It pairs perfectly with a barrel-proof bourbon or a strong espresso—anything that can stand up to its bold flavors.
Evolving Complexity: It starts spicy, turns creamy and cocoa-heavy in the middle, and finishes with a powerful, leathery punch.
The Cohiba Nicaragua is for the smoker who wants the prestige of the brand but with the “all-throttle” flavor of a modern Nicaraguan blend. It’s bold, sophisticated, and definitely not for the faint of heart.
