Description
La Flor Dominicana La Nox
Dark in appearance and in flavor, La Nox features a sweet Brazilian maduro wrapper, a San Andrés binder and a blend of our own Dominican Piloto and Pelo de Oro fillers. It’s smooth smoke and rich flavor were crafted for elegance and power. The result is a cigar that embodies its name and the serene experience that only the night can provide.
Dark and oily, this well-made cigar has a woody, sweet quality accented by impressions of candied walnut, cedar, a touch of clove and some anise. The finish calls to mind an aperitif. It draws and burns evenly throughout.

Big Dan –
The Aesthetic
The packaging immediately sets a mood. Encased in a circular, matte black box that mimics the phases of the moon, La Nox (Latin for “The Night”) is striking before you even light it. The cigar itself features a dark, oily Brazilian Cubra Maduro wrapper that is almost toothy to the touch. It’s dense, well-packed, and looks every bit like a “midnight” smoke.
The Cold Draw
Clipping the cap reveals a perfect resistance. On the cold draw, there are heavy notes of dark cocoa, raisins, and a distinct earthy sweetness.
The Smoking Experience
The First Third
The smoke opens with an immediate blast of black pepper and espresso. That signature LFD spice is present, but it quickly settles into a creamy, dark chocolate sweetness that coats the palate.
The Second Third
The “dark” flavors intensify as you progress. Notes of roasted nuts, molasses, and rich earth take center stage. The smoke output is exceptionally thick and chewy, feeling substantial with every puff.
The Final Third
The strength peaks in the home stretch. The spice returns slightly on the retrohale, accompanied by charred oak and a lingering savory finish that stays with you long after the cigar is resting in the ashtray.
The Verdict
This is not a morning cigar. La Nox is a sophisticated, heavy-hitting blend that demands your full attention. While it is undeniably powerful, it manages to stay incredibly smooth—a testament to the expert aging of the Dominican fillers.
Final Note: If you enjoy cigars with a rich, dessert-like darkness but still want that signature Dominican “kick,” this is a masterpiece. Pair it with a stout or a heavy bourbon to truly unlock the sweetness of the Maduro wrapper.
